Dear Parents and Students,
It has been a fast, short week. I
hope all of you had fun with family and friends on Monday and enjoyed Moon
Festival.
Dates to remember for the upcoming week:
Tuesday, September 20: Math Test
(Chapter 1 & 2)
Thursday, September 22: Oral
Presentation ~ Show us how you…
Students, please keep the following in mind when preparing for the oral
presentation: You should focus on giving
the class clear directions on how to make something or how to do
something. It could be how to
make a sandwich, how to make something artistic, how to make a card, how to
play a game, etc. Presentations can
include cue cards that you can refer to if you forget your directions. Please
remember that you should not be reading the directions directly from the cue
cards. When choosing a
topic, you should keep in mind that you need to demonstrate the actions as you
give directions. Props are therefore
a necessity. Also remember to speak clearly and audibly.
Curriculum Plan for Week 4:
Math: We will start with Chapter 3, which is about money. We
will finish the first four lessons of this chapter. So students, do your homework daily! And
REVIEW!
Social Studies: We will finish Chapter 2 and also do the first lesson of
Chapter 3.
English: We started with Unit 2 this week and will
continue with it in Week 4. The spelling
list for Week 4 will also be based on plural nouns
It was a pleasure
for me to meet some of the parents on Thursday evening. I am looking
forward to meeting parents who were unable to attend our Parents’
Introductory Evening. I am excited about working together with you all.
Our Student of the
Week award goes to Annie Chen. Annie got
full scores in all tests assigned for Week 3!
Congratulations, Annie! Your hard
work is definitely paying off!
Have a great
weekend, everyone!
