Super Stars!

Dear Parents and Students,

When I say I am very impressed with the third graders, it is an understatement!  The third graders HIGHLY impressed me with their Science Fair projects and presentations.  Third graders, you are super stars!  J  Well done to each one of you!  Have a look at the slide show of pictures taken at the Science Fair and feel proud of yourselves:

Our Field Trip is very close!  On Tuesday, May 1^st, we are going to go to Green World!  Everyone, please arrive early enough at school.  The buses are leaving promptly at 8.30am.  We will come back to school by bus, leaving Green World at 2.30pm.  You will be back at school on time to leave at 3.10pm.  A packed lunch and drink will be provided to all students.  Students, you may also bring spending money for drinks and/or novelties.  Here is the link to Green World’s webpage if you want to have a look before hand:  http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.green-world.com.tw%2Fen%2Fhtml%2Fpage-about.htm&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNFp30DXNBIrs6Q-7zeeEaiQWXx7Ug

IOWA tests will take place from May 7^th to May 11^th.  No homework or assignments will be given during this week.

Here is the schedule for the IOWA Test Week:

Test Dates for Week 13:

Math Test:  Thursday, May 3^rd (Chapters 18 & 19)

Science Test:  Friday, May 4^th (Chapters 13 & 14)

Curriculum Planning for Week 13:

Math:  We will continue with Chapter 20, which is on Decimals.

Reading:  We will start with Theme 6, Smart Solutions.  Our first selection is Pepita Talks Twice.

Science:  We will review Chapter 14 and be tested on it.

Social Studies:  We will start on Chapter 11, Community Government. 

English:  We will review Unit 11 and start with an assignment on writing an opinion essay.

Our Elementary production, the musical Annie, will take place on May 25^th.  Tickets are available at the Elementary office.  I can promise you all that this will be an unforgettable show!  One of high standards!

Happy birthday to Ashley Han.  It is Ashley's birthday on Sunday, April 29th.  Ashley, we hope that you will have an unforgettable birthday.

Our Student of the Week is Ashley Han.  Not only did Ashley do a great job on the Science Fair Project, but her positive attitude is contagious and her enthusiasm a delight.  Congratulations, Ashley.  You are a star!
