We Won!!!


Dear Parents and Students,

Let me start with the great news:  WE WON the Music Scavenger Hunt!!!  We won!  We won!  We won!  The third graders were real champions!  The fourth graders were great, too.  They were very strong in the music theory part, but we overshadowed them in the song part.  Congratulations, Third Grade!  You made me very proud!

Next Wednesday, March 28th, will be our Race Day.  Another fun activity to look forward to.  We will take part from 1.00pm – 2.00pm.  Students, remember to wear comfortable clothes and bring your running shoes, a cap and your water bottle.

There are two tests coming up next week and also the Oral Presentation.  Social Studies Test will be on Monday, March 26thMath Test will be on Wednesday, March 28th.  The Oral Presentation is scheduled for Thursday, March 29th

Students, I know it seems like a very busy week next week.  J  The good news is that after the week it is Spring Break.  School will start again on Monday, April 9th.  There is more good news!  On Monday, April 9th, we will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt! 

Students, remember about Science Fair on April 25th.  Bring your project to school on April 23rd, so that we can check that everything is good and that we can practice with each other.  Remember, you have to be able to explain to other students how your project works. 

Curriculum Planning for Week 9:
Math:  We will finish and review Chapter 17.  We will also review the whole of Unit 6.
Science:  We will finish Chapter 13 and review it.  I will also give some time in class so that the Science Fair partners can work together and discuss what will be the next step in their procedure.
English:  We will continue with Unit 10, Writing Research Report. 
Reading:  We will read the second selection for Theme 5.  The story’s name is Yunmi and Halmoni’s Trip.  We will also work on activities based on this story.

Our Student of the Week is Jonah Stacey.  Jonah is trying his best during class time and is raising his hand more frequently.  He is participating with a lot of enthusiasm.  Congratulations, Jonah!  You are a star!!!
