Dear Parents and Students,
Another week has flown by!
I don’t know where the time is going!
What I do know is that the third graders are growing up fast!
This week we helped our Pre-K buddies build their own
rockets. We had lots of fun! Next week Friday we want to try it again and
also build our own. We will have a
contest and see whose rocket can fly the farthest. I also have to take this opportunity and say
how well the third graders are following instructions, what great little
teachers they are, and how kindly they treat their Pre-K buddies.
Students, next week is SPIRIT
WEEK!!! So please dress up according
to the daily themes, to contribute to the great spirit that is already
established among us all at school. The
daily themes are as follow:
Monday, March 12th: Twins Day
Tuesday, March 13th: Zombie Day
Wednesday, March 14th: Rainbow Day
Thursday, March 15th: Favorite Character/Celebrity Day
Friday, March 16th: Green Day
On Wednesday, March 14th, we will run races from
1.00pm – 2.00pm. Students, remember your
running shoes, water bottle and a cap, for in case Mr. Sun shows up. J
Our Music Scavenger Hunt is also getting closer. We will compete against the fourth graders on
Wednesday, March 21st. So
Students, review all those facts and listen to those songs on the list. We can win!!!
Curriculum
Progress for Week 7:
Math: We will
finish and review Chapter 15 in Week 7.
We will also start with Chapter 16, Congruence,
Symmetry and Transformations.
Social Studies:
We will finish Chapter 9 and review it.
We will look at trading and the transportation of goods.
English: We
will continue with Unit 9. Our focus is
to write good instructions.
Extra: Each
week we will also spend a few minutes reviewing what we have learned in the
past. This is a good way to get geared
up for the upcoming IOWA
tests in May. Students, my advice to you
is to review daily and store all information in your long term memory. Also, always focus on doing corrections
well! We learn from our mistakes. And like I always say, “Practice makes perfect!”
