Read-a-Thon came to an end

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome back!  I believe that everyone had a relaxing break and enjoyed the festivities of Christmas and New Year.  It is great to have everyone back at school again!  It has been a busy week back and the third graders worked very hard.

We came to an end of our school’s Read-a-Thon and I want to congratulate all students on their effort and participation.  I hope all enjoyed it as much as I did.  We counted all the reading minutes today and students have to collect the money from their sponsors during the following week.

Here is a link and some guidelines to help you with calculating and collecting the money:
1.  Record the total minutes on the Student Sponsor Form
2.  Calculate the amount that each Sponsor owes
3.  Add the total amount of money raised and record the number in the GRAND TOTAL box
4
.  Collect all of the money from your sponsors

5.  Place the money and the Student Sponsor Form in the yellow envelope and give it to your homeroom teacher before Friday, January 13.

Students, keep in mind that you have to start thinking about and working on the upcoming Science Fair.  Although the date is scheduled for April 25th, remember that it is a big assignment and time flies by.  By Friday, January 13th, you and your partner need to have your topic for the fair and inform the rest of the class.
